Eco-friendly Products

Everything we produce has an impact on our fellow human beings and our planet. Therefore, sustainability and environmental compatibility are important issues. Jaeger has also addressed this issue and developed products made from sustainable and ecological materials. These products, made of TencelTM, linen, organic cotton or recycled Polyester or Polyamide for example, are particularly interesting for shoe models that are intended to be sustainable and environmentally friendly and yet still to fulfill the technical requirements.

You can also get our entire product portfolio in the area of shoe- and leather goods made from sustainable raw materials.

Our sustainable raw materials

TencelTM

TENCELTM branded lyocell and modal fibers are produced by environmentally responsible processes from the sustainably sourced natural raw material wood.

Linen

Linen is a natural fiber made from flax plants. It is noted for its strength, absorbancy and coolness. Due to its high strength and poor elasticity for a natural fiber it is a suitable alternative for reinforcements.

Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is generally defined as cotton that is grown organically in subtropical countries from non-genetically modified plants, and without the use of any harmful synthetic agricultural chemicals. Cotton fibers are known as soft, cool, breathable and absorbent.

Wool

Wool is the textile fiber obtained from sheep and other animals and has positive properties such as self-cleaning and insulation that ensures a soft feel. It also has a high water absorption capacity. Since it is a nature-based fiber it has a natural appearance and is suitable for shoe components such as elastics or laces.

Bamboo

Bamboo is a natural and rapidly renewable resource whose cultivation requires almost no artificial irrigation methods or pesticides. Some of the numerous bamboo varieties grow up to one metre per day. Compared to wood, bamboo produces more oxygen and thus has a positive effect on the CO2 balance.

Biodegradable Polyamide

Through an enhanced formula which is integrated in the Polymaide material the product becomes biodegradable and decompose quickly when discarded and landfilled. This material degrades in about 5 years, while other fibers take decades to decompose. This material is comparable in terms of quality features to conventional polyamide material.

Recycled Polyamide & Polyester

Polyester and polyamide are based on synthetic raw materials obtained from crude oil. By melting down used plastic products such as PET bottles or fishing nets, these plastics are given a second life cycle in the form of recycled fibers. We only use raw materials from tested and certified sources to ensure the sustainability of the raw material.
